Welcome to Spanish Fork

Pride and Progress

Just south of Mapleton, stretching from the foothills of Spanish Fork mountain to Utah Lake, Spanish Fork city is a thriving town. The early Spanish missionaries assigned to find a overland route to Monterey California passed through what is now called Spanish Fork Canyon into Utah Valley. They interacted with the native Ute tribes before heading south. Though their trip through Utah County and Spanish Fork was brief, the maps they made were used by other European explorers and trappers. And the name stuck.

When Mormon pioneers arrived, they established a town in Spanish Fork. Many of the pioneers had Icelandic roots. The town’s industries include agriculture, iron and brass casting, and livestock. Spanish Fork is also home to the Utah County Fair, held every August.

Spanish Fork is a community that strives to maintain a high quality of life. The city is dedicated to providing an outstanding environment for working, recreating, and simply enjoying life. The community celebrates Spanish Fork Fiesta Days & Rodeo each July, complete with fireworks, parades, dances, sporting events, contests, llamas, bull riding, and more.

During the holiday season, Spanish Fork lights up with their Festival of Lights located at the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon.

In March, you won’t want to miss the Festival of Colors at the Krishna Temple in Spanish Fork.
